The only effective way of preventing anal warts, is to abstain from sexual encounters. This is not the way most people choose to live their lives. Another way to try and control sexually transmitted diseases STD’s in our lives is to educate ourselves on the subject of preventing anal warts. Anal warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). There are 100 different strains of human papilloma virus 30 of which are directly related to STD’s. In the United States there are 20 million cases of sexually transmitted diseases, with at least one million new cases per year. Researchers estimate that there are at least that many more cases that are unaware that they are infected with the wart virus. We need to wake people, and take our heads out of the sand and educate ourselves and our children to the best ways of preventing anal warts.

By changing a few daily routines, those with sexually transmitted diseases may help to keep outbreaks to a minimum. Taking vitamin A, C, E, daily will boost your immune system. Maintain a well balanced diet. Avoid drive through windows; limit the intake of alcohol, caffeine, and sweets, to build a healthier body. While pregnant being infected with the wart virus can be dangerous, if not taken care of immediately. The hormonal changes in the body while pregnant will cause the wart virus to grow more rapidly and rupture causing the woman to bleed. A health care provider may choose to cut the warts away to protect the mother and the baby during delivery. This procedure of cutting the warts away is considered a form of preventing anal warts. Health care providers will follow you through the pregnancy to help prevent the baby from becoming infected with the human papilloma virus. The chances of becoming infected with the human papilloma virus can be reduced by avoiding risky sexual behavior. Educate yourselves as a couple on preventing anal warts as well as other STD’s. Practice safe sex by using condoms, even condoms is not a guarantee that you will not be infected. The wart virus may not be completely covered or the skin cells may be passed on to the partner. Penetration is not necessary for you to become infected; skin to skin contact is enough.
