Planter's wart, (Plantar Wart) is one of over 100 types of human papilloma virus (HPV) 30 of which are sexually transmitted diseases (STD)'s. Planter's wart can be found on the sole, or plantar portion of the foot. This type of HPV, planter's wart has been compared to an iceberg, as it can be twice the size beneath the skin.

When a person discovers lesions planter's wart on the sole of the foot it would be wise to contact a health care provider. If the planter's wart is caught in time they can be controlled. The planter's wart will start as one and grow into invasive clusters, this when they cause excruciating pain, that has been likened to walking with stones in one's shoes.
