<p>Herpes 1 also known as HSV-1 is the stain of <a href="/topics/herpes/about-herpes.htm">herpes</a> simplex virus that is most oftentimes associated with oral herpes or cold sores.</p>

<p>Herpes 1 is believed to affect approximately 80+ percent of the entire population over the age of three. This is primarily due to the fact that little is known about the Herpes 1 virus and with so many people brushing off the infectious nature of the herpes 1 virus, by calling it <a href="/topics/herpes/cold-sores.htm">cold sores</a> and believing it is caused by colds of flu, they are more likely to spread the herpes 1 virus by kissing their loved ones and family members.</p>
