Candidiasis is an infection by Candida Albican. Albicans is a type of yeast. Although pathogenic strains of Candida share similar characteristics with food yeasts, food yeasts do not carry the same ability to strongly adhere to and colonize mucous membranes.
Candidiasis, and especially intestinal Candida proliferation, has recently been seen as a condition that can attack even those who have a "normal" immune system. It has been subject of many debates and greatly lacks understanding in both the medical and research communities, but has motivated new thinking and research in hopes of finding a quicker and more effective candida cure. Is there a candida cure? Is there not a candida cure? Will there be a candida cure? Those who suffer from the many debilitating affects this yeast out of control can cause ask those and similar questions every single day.
Prior to 1940 candidiasis was virtually unheard of. Since the introduction of antibiotics around that same time and in the years preceding the introduction of antibiotics that candida has become the widespread problem that it is today which has sent researchers into a mad dash, reaching and hoping to find a more immediate candida cure.
Antibiotics are known to kill the normal biota in the gut and since even healthy guts have candida in them and nature abhors a vacuum, the candida will proliferate making it more aggressive and a candida cure much more difficult to find. The use of steroids (cortisones), birth control pills, antacids and anti-ulcer medications, in addition to antibiotics are all known strong contributors to a candida infection since candida proliferates rapidly in the presence of these substances. Modern day diets extremely high in sugars are also blamed for candida infections. Candida infections results from sugars that are rapidly metabolized by fungi, especially yeasts, and prevent the growth of bacteria.
With the very existence of sugars and natural yeasts in nearly everything we eat, it is difficult to maintain a diet that significantly fights against negative affects of candida albicans and also makes the attempts of finding a candida cure seem nearly impossible.
So what exactly does candida do to our bodies and why is a candida cure so important? Candida is believed to play a part in a somewhat new diagnosis called "leaky gut," an unfavorable increase in intestinal permeability.
Leaky Gut Syndrome – although the name itself is quite unpleasant but it describes a gut which is inflamed and has become very porous, much more porous than it should be, and it is letting large food proteins, bacteria, fungi, metals and toxic substances straight into our blood stream. A more scientific description explains leaky gut as an increase in permeability of the intestinal mucosa to luminal macromolecules, antigens and toxins associated with inflammatory degenerative and/or atrophic mucosal damage.
Once in the blood stream our immune system is the last line of defense to deal with these substances and it will eventually become overwhelmed if a Leaky Gut is not somehow repaired. Yet another reason why early detection of an active infection of candida and a candida cure or treatment implemented is so important.
Candida has been found to produce an astonishing seventy-nine distinct toxins. Overgrowth of candida causes an allergic response from the body that further plunders and jeopardizes the resources of the body and it’s immune system.
Diarrhea, sometimes associated with abdominal cramps, can be caused by candida and is often the first symptom of health problems associated with candida. Other common symptoms that are often overlooked as a simple diagnosis of psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis have also been reported in association with an active candida infection. As you can see, the scope of conditions associated with candida is quite broad indeed. Early detection can provide a means of beginning a candida cure regimen so the long-term affects are weakened and possibly even eliminated.
Diagnosis of candida is often difficult although many doctors often overlook candida as a possibility to the condition at hand or do not seem to look specifically for candida at all. The most reliable way of proving candida overgrowth is with a stool exam on a sample collected at home when symptoms are at their worst. The laboratory should be instructed to do a gram stain for yeast along with direct microscopic examination of the sample. You should avoid taking antifungal medications prior to the examination.
The first thing to do is concentrate on reducing the level of candida to that of a normal gut. Reducing the level of candida is done using fungicides. There are many natural fungicides such as Shark Liver Oil that can be used in a maintenance fashion once candida levels are low enough, however initially it is probably best to get a prescription from your doctor for an antifungal such as Nystatin, Lamisil or Diflucan. These medications are considered safe with little or no side effects. You will of course have to convince your doctor of the need for such a prescription and that can be difficult. If your health care provider is resistant to prescribing such medications, you might consider an alternative or natural means of candida cure like those provided by Forces of Nature.
Other proactive measures one can take are with a diet that focuses on candida cure. Reduce sugars and carbohydrates in your diet, particularly sugars. Yeasts love sugars and carbohydrates and thrive on them. When a diet is high in content of sugars and carbohydrates, one can almost rule out the possibility of a candida cure.
Take probiotics containing such bacteria as Lactobacilli, Bifidobacterium. These bacteria provide unsavory conditions for intestinal yeast, and also produce factors such as lactic acid, formic acid, acetic acid, and hydrogen peroxide that help to provide an environment and pH unfavorable to yeasts. Obviously probiotics are one step in the right directions at achieving the desired result, a candida cure.
If at all possible, avoid oral antibiotics, antacids and steroids. Each one of these provides an environment within your body where candida can also thrive. Avoiding antibiotics, antacids and steroids is yet another step in the right direction for reaching a candida cure.
In cases of nail bed infection and in skin folds, recent studies have shown that tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) is effective against a wide range of fungal isolates including species of candida. It appears that controlled doses of tea tree oil may be used as an effective topical treatment for dermatologic candida infection and in many cases, after extended use has proven to be an affective candida cure.
Candida is a very persistent organism and you will have to be more persistent. Although reaching an end result of a candida cure may take several months, the efforts will be worth it when you can wake up one morning to a much happier and healthier you.
